Cardrona Local Child Passes

It sure does feel like winter and we are on track to open on the 13th June – a whole week earlier than last season! This also means that the closing date for the local child pass is fast approaching and all applications need to be received by close of business on Friday 12th June. Fully completed forms can be dropped into the town office or scanned and emailed to groups@cardrona.com.

Cardrona will be commencing training with our epic new team on the mountain from Monday 8th June. The town office will still be open from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday but with a skeleton staff. We are advising parents to come in this week (2nd - 5th June) before training week or to email completed application forms to groups@cardrona.com.

HEALTH SNIPPETS

Child Safety Seats

The law changed in 2013 regarding child car restraints.  Drivers must ensure that any child travelling in your vehicle is secured in an approved child restraint until their 7th birthday.  The recommendation remains that a child should remain in an approved child restraint until they reach 148cm tall. This is because seatbelts alone are designed to fit adults. Their use on a child without an approved child restraint may increase the risk of injury to a child.  Ask your Well Child/ Tamariki provider for advice or visit http://www.safekids.org.nz/ for further information.

Pip McLean our local Public Health Nurse has kindly passed on to us child health snippets that we will publish weekly.  Should you wish to get in contact with Pip her contact details are: 03 440 4309 or 0272 839 395.
